Your story:  I moved from Colorado to Connecticut to be closer to my family and work for my dad at a new sandwich shop. The construction workers were still finishing up the shop when I started work. A few days later, after some shameless flirting, Rob asked me out to dinner. I decided to go only because I wanted desperately to get out of the house. I went from living alone and doing whatever I wanted to living with my sister (who had no car) and her two toddlers. We decided on dinner at a great Italian brick oven restaurant and a movie. After dinner, we couldn’t decide on a movie and ended up sitting in my car talking for hours. My family was not pleased with this long haired, long bearded biker construction dude that I was now dating. Especially because I only saw him one weekend a month since he traveled all over the country for work. They figured he had a girl in every town. When the sandwich shop failed, I got a job working for a mall construction company and they relocated me to Michigan. Rob moved out shortly after. My family was not pleased, but over the years they have grown to love Rob. Our relationship progressed backwards. First, we had a baby, then we married, then he bought me a ring. We moved to Maine in January of 2001 because we decided Pontiac Michigan was not a good place to raise kids. We chose Maine because this is where my husband grew up, his family was here and there was a great sense of community. We’ve been married for 15 years, together for 17, have two great kids and live in Belfast. Happily ever after at last.
